1. What’s your background and what business did you start?
Hi, My name is Sahil Bloom and I was an Investor at a private equity fund for the first seven years of my career. I learned a lot working there and was always drained out due to my work.
In 2020, when the pandemic hit, It gave me some time to think to find my answer. During lockdown, I started working from home which saved my traveling time and then I started posting on Twitter regularly. Since then I have been posting regularly and have grabbed more than 1 million followers alone on Twitter.
I also post short-form videos on Instagram and have 650k+ followers. I also have a NewsLetter “The Curiosity Chronicle” which just hit 750k+ subscribers.
Due to my creator business, I have managed to earn 8 figures which is more than $10 million.
I am also the owner of SRB Holdings which is a personal holding company that consists of ten cash-flowing businesses. I am also the managing partner of SRB Ventures, a $10 million venture Investment firm.
2. How did you develop this idea and what market research did you do?
I had a passion for writing so I started sharing my knowledge on Twitter focusing on the finance niche. I also started sending out emails to my close friends and relatives where I was sharing what I learned and read that month along with its takeaways.
I had just 500 followers back then but clear and simple explanations gained traction on Twitter. I was not chasing fame but was just focused on sharing real-life values, learnings, and struggles with my audiences.
Later I realised that just posting on finance would give me limited visibility so I started posting on Personal Growth & Productivity, Business and Entrepreneurship, Life lessons and Philosophy along with Investing and Finance.
Using this strategy, my Twitter followers skyrocketed from 500 to 75000 by the end of 2020. It was the consistent and genuine efforts that built my audience.
My research was my tweets/threads comment section or DM’s where I used to get feedback about my writing and I went on improving it every day.
3. What is your growth hack for building an audience on Twitter? Explain.
The growth has been compounded for me since I wrote my first thread on Twitter and now have more than 1 million followers on Twitter alone.
Around June 2022, I started to diversify my followers on various other platforms and was able to grab 650k+ followers on Instagram and 575k+ followers on LinkedIn.
I also have a NewsLetter “The Curiosity Chronicle” which has now over 750k+ subscribers.
But my Twitter growth has doubled almost every year:
May 2020: 500 Followers
May 2021: 170k Followers
May 2022: 540k Followers
May 2023: 830k Followers
May 2024: 1 M Followers
A few strategies that I followed to build my audience on Twitter are:
i) Writing Twitter Threads: I write 5 Twitter threads every week and threads have huge potential to get more reach on the platform which brings more engagement and thus builds credibility on the platform.
ii) Consistency & Hard work: It is yet basic but crucial to show up every day even on your lazy day. You need to understand that nothing comes easy but if you are consistent at something then achieving the hard thing becomes easy.
I had this mentality when I was a baseball player at Stanford and never used to give up.
You can be average but if you are putting consistent efforts, you can outwork people who are smarter than you. Consistent efforts lead to credibility.
iii) Expanding Topics Through Feedback: In mid-2020, I started to write on Twitter and was writing only about the Finance topics. But then I thought to grow and attract more audience, I needed to write on other broad topics and not just finance.
I also noticed that other finance influencer’s followers were capped at 100k which I didn’t want. So I expanded my niche to personal development and productivity as well.
Since then I have always looked for a signal that which type of content is working well and which one is not. I have always tried to adjust my content according to audience’s needs.
iv) Engaging with other accounts: To grow on Twitter, one needs to engage with other people and make them friends. I have always engaged every day for 2 hours and that is the reason I was able to grow my following on Twitter.
This advice is so underrated. I see many creators that they don’t engage and even after a year, their followers hardly grow.
The strategy to increase the engagement rate is that you need to engage with all sorts of creators in your niche even if they have fewer followers.
So you need to create a list of 15-20 creators who are in your niche and try to engage with their account every day. You can turn the post notification on for their account and when they post something, you will be notified.
The comment that you are leaving on your post should provide some value and should be related to that post. Then only their followers will react to your comment and might turn into your followers as well.
v) Giving a personal touch: I often upload my photos or my family photos so that I can connect and resonate with the audience. It helps me make a personal connection with my audience and hence builds authenticity.
4. What do you sell to your Audience?
You grow when you sell less. Most of the creators are always in sales mode. They create less and sell more to their audience and then they complain that they don’t make enough money.
You need to keep creating the content and providing value to your audience that people naturally want to share and can make money elsewhere on autopilot.
5. How do you earn money?
I knew one thing from the beginning if I needed to earn big then I would have to create multiple income streams. Today I can proudly say that I have different ways in which I earn money.
i) Newsletter Sponsorships: I usually send 2 emails to my subscribers every week on “The Curiosity Chronicle”. The sponsorships are managed by the convert kit itself and they take a percentage of it so I don’t have to worry about it.
I generate about $3000 to $5000 per email from sponsors.
Roughly on a bad month, I usually generate between $50,000 -$70,000, and in a good month, it crosses $100,000 as well.
ii) Affiliate Marketing: I also earn money through affiliate marketing by placing affiliate links on my issues for the Newsletter.
iii) Podcast Sponsorships: I have to find the sponsors for my podcast and it usually helps me generate around $3000 – $5000 a month.
iv) Investing Fund: I started SRB Ventures and raised a fund of $10 million to invest in smaller checks in series C startups.
This is a long-term investment to build the fortune.
v) Other Business: I also started a personal holding company which is SRB Holdings currently comprised of more than 10 cash-flowing businesses collectively generating over $10 million in annual revenue.
6. How are you doing today and what does the future look like?
Today I have attracted more than 1M followers on Twitter, more than 650k followers on Instagram, 600k+ followers on LinkedIn, and recently started on YouTube.
The journey has been amazing till now which has helped me generate more than $10 million.
My goal is to provide value and guide at least 1 billion people on Earth and keep creating content.

8. Which books, podcasts, or other resources have been the most influential for you?
- Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor E.Frankl
- Thinking Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman

9. What advice would you give to entrepreneurs who are just starting or looking to get started?
I would advise them to simplify everything and try to automate every aspect of the business. Consistency can change the game so being consistent and showing up every day is crucial.
Build networks on social platforms with other creators as you can’t grow alone, you grow together.
Forget about any earnings for at least 6 months and try to provide value in your content. Money will come gradually in the end.
For Entrepreneurs who want to follow my path, I just want to tell them that instead of treating their work as a product, treat it like a laboratory. Examine what pain points you are having and how you could solve them, not just for yourself but also for others.
